Service Description

This 6-hour training provides an introduction to cross-cultural competency and offers insightful explanations of Inuit social norms, values and communication styles. It is meant for non-Inuit professionals who wish to improve their relationships with Inuit colleagues and clients and to improve project outcomes when serving Inuit communities. It strives to promote mutual understanding, relationship building and reciprocity. Content includes: - Understanding surface culture and deep culture - Inuit communication norms - Introductions, meeting etiquette - Collectivist decision making and problem solving - Picking up on the indirect “no” and managing disagreement - Cultural approaches to time management and scheduling - Identifying miscommunications

Cancellation Policy

To cancel or reschedule please contact us at least 72 hours before the start of the workshop. Cancellation requests received at least 72 hours before workshops begin will be refunded, but incur a $50 admin fee. No admin fee is charged for rescheduling to a future workshop, but the new workshop must take place within one year of the original registration.

Certificates of Completion

Please note that at this time we only issue certificates of completion for graduates of our 40-hour Kiggaqtuijugut training. However, we track attendance in all our workshops and can attest to participant completion by email if requested.
